エジプトでの約束

エジプトの砂漠ツアーで利用したホテルのスタッフと友達になり、彼が東芝製のギガビートという製品と日本製の時計がほしいので、お金を払うからぜひ送って欲しい…ということだったので、日本へ帰ったら送ると約束した。
当初、冗談かな〜なんて思って適当に話をあわせていたのだが、あまりに何回も頼んできて、本当に楽しみにしている様子で、とうとう本当に送る事態にまでなってきた。

出来るだけ早く欲しい〜なんて言うし、しょうがない。
早速、値段を調べたところ4万くらいとのことだった。これには特に問題はなかった。
加えて海外への宅急便でＤＨＬという会社がいいと彼が言っていたので、取り合えず概算で必要な運賃を調べてみた

場所：日本からエジプト

ＤＨＬのサイトで見積りが出せてなかなか便利な世の中やなぁ〜と感心していると、さっそく運賃の見積りが出てきた。
な・なんと、\42,000！！

4万円の製品をエジプトに送るのに運賃が4万も掛かってては話にならんやろ〜？
さっそく彼にメールである。
自信持って書くぞ！

Sorry,This is bad news!
Yesterday,I came back to Japan,and came back to my home,and I search
for GIGA-BEAT(30GB) by TOSHIBA.
It's price is about 450US$,and the cost is right.
It is no problem.

But transport cost is big problem!
I search for DHL company's website,and check transport cost from Japan to Egypt.

calculation is
SIZE:15cm X 10cm X 10cm
WEIGHT:2.0kg

The calculation answer is about 420US$!!
(1US$ = about 110 JP-YEN)
I don't search for transport cost of TNT and FEDEX's company,but maybe
I think the price is about same.
and I have never searched for watch yet.

GIGA-BEAT(30GB) + transport cost
=450US$ + 420US$
=870US$

This is about price and not include watch price.

When I stayed in Egypt,I promised to send it.
But the time I didn't know transport cost is very expensive!

Do you pay over 800US$?
I think it is bad choice.
Very very expensive!
